Introducing Oliver DP

From a very young age, I was always fascinated by visual storytelling, driven by a passion to tell stories that subvert the norm and connect with people.
What began with DIY music videos in a little studio in Ancoats has grown into 14+ years of balls-out video production for brand campaigns, global music artists and local Manchester businesses.
Mainly working as a hybrid creative (Director of Photography, Editor and Videographer – all at once!) , I see myself as stylistically versatile – working solo with a growing brand or slotting into a bigger crew, focused on making visually striking content that sticks in the memory.

Where it began
I grew up making shoestring films with home video cameras and whatever light I could find. That instinct eventually became reality. From the rainy brickworks of Ancoats, I co-founded a production company creating scrappy, DIY visuals – from raw rock band videos to offbeat brand storytelling – all driven by a refusal to make generic, safe work.
Often working in small teams – I found ways to make big things on modest budgets by solving problems with creative, experimental solutions. Always pushing. Always going.
From idea to final cut
That journey shaped how I work today. I’m a hybrid Director of Photography, Videographer, and Editor, which means I can take an idea from the very first spark right through to the final cut.
Working at production-company level showed me that great video isn’t just about nice shots. It’s about understanding why you’re making it and how it needs to land. That’s where the real impact comes from.
For me, it’s never just about footage. It’s about making people feel seen, understood, and represented – creating work that connects on a human level and actually means something.
An authentic mission
We’re living in a time where it’s hard to know what’s real. Content is being factory-farmed, pumped out at speed, and most of it loses its soul, authenticity, and edge along the way. My mission is to do the opposite.
Whether I’m working solo or as part of a wider team, my focus is always the same: helping clients feel felt by their audience. To inspire. To create work that nudges people to think differently, feel something, and do better things.
No fake bullshit. No shortcuts. Just real moments, captured with intent – full of heart, soul, and emotion. While others chase speed and convenience, I’m here to push creativity properly, make impact, and get results the right way.
